I almost stumbled tonight…….

…..I was getting ready to get into my car and go grab a burger and some fries from this land mark Burger joint here in Seattle called “Dick’s.”  Trust me, the fries are the best ever.  Great old fashioned shakes.  Everything is good there.

But……I was on this site, and I saw some pretty motivational stuff.  Expressions from people indicating their struggles, and desire to do better next time, as well as the success from as little as 1lb lost.   It gave me the extra bit of self control that I needed to keep my butt at home!!  So thank you.

You know what I ate for dinner instead?  Quaker, instant…….GRITS!  Ha ha!  Two packets in the bowl, boil some water, pour it in, stir.  Tiny bit of butter, couple packs of Splenda……and I saved myself, from myself.  Thanks to you!  So continue to share your struggles along with your successes.  It helps us to see that we’re not perfect, and can give someone what they need, at exactly the right moment.

Right there, that’s what we are all here for!! I’m glad you saved yourself from yourself and really when it comes down to it those burgers and fries don’t taste as good as being healthy feels.

I made some great and delicious sweet potato fries tonight added a little bit of chili powder, sea salt and a pinch of cayenne pepper and a little bit of cooking oil spray on them so the seasoning would stick & viola some freaking amazing tasting french fries! you should try them some day.

Awesome job man!!!!!!!!!! That was the best decision you could ever do to yourself and means you are more than determined than ever! It’s not only about eating veggies and eating lean mets, but making the wise decisions in the face of the ultimate temptations, and you passed with flying colors. :) The Quaker might not have been the same, but when we have a food addiction to junk food nothing else will be as appealing as crap from a junk from a junk food joint. However, believe me if you continue doing wonderful choices like this and not eat junk food ever again (since, technically, we don’t need it, right???) you won’t miss it, and if ever you do eat it later on your system will not agree with it or reject it. I just ate mexican the other day and was sick for the last 24 hours!!! I used to be a McDo, Burger King etc. addict. Good job and keep it up, stay focused. :)

The best thing to do when you have that urge is to read blogs first and the cravings usually disappear.

The same thing happened to me! Sort of. We were at a pub watching a hockey game and by the time it got to the third period, my dinner was LONG gone and I very nearly ordered a big slice of cheesecake, which would have been SOOO good. BUT I remembered all of the blogs and the great advice you and others gave me, and I DIDN’T!

    Way to go!!! :)

The place sounds like heaven. Great job resisting it. You know, this place always makes me more mindful of what I put in my mouth. :)

The grits was a great alternative.
